Reliability Centered Design

Reliability Centered Design focuses on ensuring that appropriate levels of design, quality of manufacture, operating envelopes and maintenance are defined before an asset is put into service. This is critical if life cycles are to be maximized, operating costs are to be minimized, maintenance programs are to be optimized and theoretical lives extended.

This type of activity is very intensive, up front, and is not deemed to be a realistic practice for many different industry sectors. However, in environments where the consequences of failure are potentially catastrophic, i.e. aviation, power generation/distribution, nuclear, etc., the investment of time and money is often crucial to long-term success of an organization.

TCPS® will allow the creation of the lifecycle events associated with Reliability Centered Design. Once set up in TCPS®, reporting and analysis is possible for an organization, which in turn will allow an organization to introduce state of the art business practices to improve overall business practices.
